1) LET YOUR CHICKEN OUT TO HAVE FRESH AIR

6) ENSURE YOUR HENS ARE NOT EGG PECKING

Egg pecking is a bad behavior from hens and roosters alike. This mainly happens when your hens hatch eggs which end up breaking. The hen might start to pecking the eggs and realise they are sweet. Other flocks might observe and start eating the eggs. Lack of essential minerals such as magnesium and potassium, might also cause your poultry to peck eggs. So always ensure your birds has essential minerals and vitamins.

7) SEPARATE YOUR CHICKEN

Hens start breeding after seven to eight months. Six hens require one rooster for them to breed. Ensure you remove other roosters and take them to a separate room. As this might cause noise and fights.

8) SEPARATE MOTHER HEN FROM THE REST

It's important to separate mother hen from the rest of the chickens. For the health and safety of the small chics. Especially first time mother's who are always stressed about their chics. Giving her, her own room will give her adequate peaceful environment. To take care of her chics.

9) LOCK YOUR CHICKEN EARLY BEFORE DARK

It's always important to give your chickens adequate security and a safe house from predators.cats hawks and snakes all love to invade poultry. Building a well protected house for your poultry is a no brainer. Also never have complete hens only. Mix them with roosters. Since the roosters are able to spot hawks and alert other chickens. It's always safe to lock your chicken early. Since predators love striking at night. This will help you greatly to save your flock.
