HOW TO SPEED UP YOUR SNAIL'S GROWTH TO MARKETABLE SIZE IN 4 MONTHS

Managing your snail feeding regiment can be easy, it doesn't require huge resources if you know what to do. Feeding your Snails, is not time consuming, Snails eat mostly plant material, you can give them all kinds of leaves, fruits, and tubers.

During the raining season when there is a lot of vegetation, it's easy to find food for Snails.

ADDITIONAL FEED. However, for you to speed up the growth of your Snail and shorten the time needed for them to reach Marketable size, you must feed them with extra amount of additional feed, giving them this extra amount of feed the snail can reach Marketable size in 4 Months instead of 8 months.

Below is an example of such concentrate feed use in the west Africa sun region to fatten Snails.
Wheat bran, ( substitute Maize or Rice bran if Wheat is not available.) Palm kennel cake,Crushed Shells, Soya Bean Oil Cake, ( Substitute groundnut Oil cake or Fish meal if soya not available).

Concentrate feed is supplied once a day, mostly in the evening because Snails are nocturnal, they hide from draught during the daytime, water must be provided for them, put a shallow container for water for them, before giving a new feed always clear the feeding area of old left over feed, no matter the quantity left. Put the feed on a flat surface to enable the Snail's to access to the feed this also gives you the opportunity to monitor the Snail's health, as healthy snails will feed well.

The flavor of snail reflects what the snails has eaten, therefore, don't feed them bitter leaves before selling or eating them, leaves like Dogoyaro, pawpaw, and bitter leaf are example of bitter leaves. However, it's best to feed them sweet food before selling them.

You must avoid salt make sure there are no salt in the feed. For snails salt will dehydrate and kill them, since all concentrated feed for other animals or your left over food contains salt, don't give it to your snails, try and make your own feed from the formula above.
